The Rubble of Progress, 13", Malmö, 2024
“The Rubble of Progress” portrays the drastic urban transformation in Chile during the 1970s. Through dreamlike images and real situations, it shows the eradication of shantytowns, giving rise to urban ghettos. The film explores the housing policies of the time and their repercussions today, revealing a legacy of segregation and inequality that persists. The echoes of the past resonate in the modern streets, raising questions about justice and memory in a Chile that is still seeking to heal its social wounds.
